Background

Hardt Chemical principal, Barney Heller, is a career chemical professional. Barney holds a BS in Chemistry from Bucknell University and an MBA from Wharton. He has worked in various capacities in the chemical industry focusing mainly in concrete, gypsum, and rubber polymerization industries.

With experience in research, manufacturing, finance, sales, marketing and executive management, Barney focuses on partnerships with customers to create and maintain long term relationships. Hardt Chemical concentrates on value added products and services for industry.

With a technical point of view, Hardt Chemical assists concrete companies to manufacture their own admixtures.  Large admixture companies still are needed for high performance/specialized projects, but normal concrete work can easily be handled by self manufactured admixtures.  Hardt assists in the design of the admixture plant, ASTM/AASHTO accreditation and purchasing of the chemicals.  For a concrete company with a desire to self manufacture admixtures, there is a tremendous profit potential.

Barney is President of the Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (EPDACI).  He successfully organized the National Convention social program in October,2016.  Current challenges are bringing the chapter to the electronic age and instituting checks and balances in the accounting and management of the chapter.
